Do you (or someone you know) identify as deaf or hard of hearing?
Have you (or another deaf/hard of hearing person) had experience with any type of therapies such as ABA, OT, SLP or talk therapy?
And are you at least 18 years old?
If you answered “yes” to these questions, you are invited to participate in a research study conducted by Arizona State University!
The information you provide will help evaluate the Deaf community’s current exposure to ABA, address barriers relating to ABA and the Deaf community and propose solutions to help behavioral professionals in the ABA field be more inclusive, culturally competent, and ethically adherent to the deaf/hard of hearing community.
If you agree to participate in this survey, you will be asked to complete questions related to: familiarity with different types of direct therapy services, opinions and barriers pertaining to certain direct therapy services. There are no foreseeable risks for participating in this research study. It will take about 20 minutes to complete the survey. Your responses will be automatically compiled in a Qualtrics and cannot be linked to you. All data will be stored in a password protected electronic format. The results of the study will be used for scholarly purposes only.
